On 25 January from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm, the Japanese New Year’s Festival co-sponsored by the Japan Commerce Association of Washington, D.C. and JCAW Foundation, Inc. will be held at the new location,Washington Marriott Wardman Park. There will be four areas where various activities, such as Performances, Cultural Activities and Games, delicious Japanese festival specialties in the Food Court, and Toys and Sweets for Purchase.
Enjoy series of live new year performances, including the Lion Dance, a
Drum performance, Japanese Dancing, and a Children’s Choral Concert.

Experience the fun of traditional Japanese New Year’s calligraphy, Origami
paper craft, card games and other traditional games.
Nostalgic toys, Japanese sweets and other goods of interests are available for purchase.
The local member restaurants of national Sushi Society will compete to
offer the most delicious Japanese foods. Ladies group of the Japanese Commerce Association of Washington will offer hot, fresh Rice Cakes. Don’t miss the demonstration of Rice Cake Production with a mortar and pestle!
